Grantie Asher is a great song writer with a clear clean style and has the vocal skills to showcase his lyrics.
In 1989 he hooked up with Passion records, where he released a doubled A side record called “If it was love” followed by a duet with Paulette Tajah entitled “Love or Physical” this was a massive song which achieved the number 1 spot in the black Echo’s chart.
Its also around this time Grantie Asher was the support act for Maxi Priest, Chaka Demus & Pliers.
In 2004 Grantie won a heat, and was placed in 6th place out of hundreds of contestants, as he auditioned for a TV program call “Stars In Your Eyes” where he sang a variety of Luther Vandross songs wowing the judges & public.
He attended the Screen Nation TV & Film Awards in 2018. This ceremony featured the cream of black British film & TV scene, alongside established stars from the world of sport, music, fashion, media & entertainment.
We are proud to have been involved and commissioned to perform at this prestigious event with Grantie Asher performing his hit song “Black Skin” which went down very well with the honouring of the cast of the then new Marvel movie Black Panther, this was such a proud moment for us which resulted in Grantie Asher & Idris Elba pictured together, and was circulating around the internet.
Grantie has perform at the Brixton Electric giving support for Vibes FM 30th anniversary with Luciano, Lukie D, Stevie Face & Bitty Mclean in Nov 2019, but more recently in Feb 2020, Grantie Asher gave support at ICONS OF REGGAE 2020 with Sanchez & Barrington Levy by opening the stage at 02 Academy Brixton to 5000 reggae fans.
On the 10 of February 2020 his new single “Lover Boy” was released. The single is taken from his new album the FLIP SIDE, the album produced by Konroy (Starrvybz) Stephens for SVE Music label was scheduled for a mid year release & launch party but due to unforeseen events of Covid-19 and to comply with government rulings, all music activities have been postponed for now.
